Looking forward to Spring...

Normally just as most people are still nursing hangovers from their new years parties, all that you see in the magazines are the next S/S 2011 look books. And seeing as though I ALWAYS over indulge over the whole winter period and I can no longer blame it on the festive period as it seemed to have started around hmmmmm Oct time, seeing look books for when I know I will want to be a few stone lighter before hopping into my playsuits.... I'm actually really looking forward to shopping for my S/S 11 wardrobe....

The main trend that seems to keep coming up is the 70's riviera look which I never thought I'd say this seeing as though I lurveeee the 60's it just looks amazing with the over sized hats and gorgeous palazzo trousers, I noticed that Primark seems to be the best for the new seasons looks for both price and being bang on trend - here's a few of my favourites:

Love the 3 1/4 length black and mocha dress, noticing alot of dresses coming out this lenght, like I need another reason to go buy another pair of killer stiletto heels :) also loving the tan dress in the middle. shall be trying to purchase both of these. love love

again loving the halterneck dress in the middle and the ditsy flower print on the first dress, think the cardigan gives it a preppy feel which is dead cute, and the satchel bag is quite 70's along with the palazzo pants.
As we see every year the nautical trend reinvents itself every year but this year I think its got a cuter more American look to it, again with geeky glasses are back with vintage look prints geeky glasses go clear this year but still look good in fact better, and the last look seems to be grungy with pretty twists and prints. love!

Liking the wooden peep toe and rope wedges always like wedges but I think they only work when mega high. (shock!)

ASOS is another of my favourites for their S/S 11 looks.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that ASOS is one of my favourite places to shop, but their S/S 11 dresses are just amazing, I love the floor lenght camel coloured pleated dress. I spied it before and constantly hover over the "place in basket" button but I'm sadly just to little for it.... sad times hopefully one of my friends will buy themselves it and I can admire it from a distance :(

This look again captures the 70's trend floating about just now, just make me want to skip about a festival field... lovely, I maybe thinking too much ahead but to be honest, I always do but I think the 70's trend is going to be huge for the festival season, I know I'm looking for my tasseled embroidered waistcoat to wear.
The trouser trend is back again this year I see, with the wide legged silk trousers, love the neutral colours, think to me its like a kind of Parisian style/ geek sheek/ st tropaz....think I'll get involved in that!!

Absolutely adore this outfit, in fact going to get it off asos asap. love everything about it, the girly vintage feel print, almost see through but keeps everything to the imagination.
Now I have a little bit of sunshine to look forward too, making shopping for the S/S 11 wardrobe that whole bit more fun.. any maybe I'll just purchase the clothes in the size I'm meant to be and hopefully looking forward to spring stops me from having the "I'm just festively plump" (all year round)  statement tattooed on my forehead?? that should work right??

Carrie Diaries

Having heard the news that Blake Lively is set to be the young Carrie Bradshaw in the SATC prequel got me all excited. I think it is just what the series needs as I didn't entirely LOVE LOVE the second film as I thought it kinda dragged on a little.

I think she will do the young Carrie Bradshaw justice and couldn't really think of anyone else more up to the job of playing a fabulous naive Carrie starting out in New York and apparently telling her stories of dating an older man.

I think it will breathe new live into the SATC  as we know it, and there will not be a current Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda in sight and quite frankly I cant wait.

XOXO

Kings of Leon

Having a wee look through the Vogue most beautiful couples article today online, Caleb Fallowill and Lilly Aldridge were dancing amongst the beautiful people as so they definitely should be, who doesn't relish in a rock n roll love story right??

Seeing them in this article reminded me that The Kings of Leon had launched their first clothing line in collaboration with French designers Surface to Air in January 2010.  Like any fashion or music fan this would be quite an exciting date in the diary to see if can get a piece of the kings style as it would be expected to be original and some of it purse friendly?? asking too much?

Looking through the pieces it just reminded me how I haven't heard anyone say "ooh I got this shirt from the Kings Of Leon new clothing line" unless  you got a spare £150 to £750 for a plain tshirt or boring leather jacket which quite frankly doesn't look any different to what is in the likes of Urban Outfitters or All Saints, in fact these shops are better and have more ranges than the bands line.

Green checked shirt £102.00

Leather boots Whopping £369.00
If anyone is going to invest this much in a pair of boots, you are as well putting towards a far better looking pair and designer such as Paul Smith, Kurt Geiger or even Jones the boot makers.

E.g. Far smarter Hugo Boss boots from £230 to £139.00 BARGAIN

Red Checked Shirt which to be fair is very Caleb Fallowill -£112.00 (I find rakes of these types of shirts in Vintage stores all the time for a fraction of the price)

aah the boring grey t -shirt (topman regular from anything from £14.00 to £32.00)
will cost a lovely £71.00

Looking at this leather jacket, I'm really disappointed in as too shiny looks almost like fake plastic leather. This also boring leather jacket is around £738.00

Alternative and more stylish in my opinion from all saints Meuse Leather Jacket £295.00

There is plenty more shockingly un-original and over priced items in The Kings of Leon clothing line, which quite frankly I think there is far better Rock n Roll looks going about the high streets at the moment and it goes to show it doesn't need to be High Street topman to get value for money as per my example of the Hugo Boss boots, overall I think the line is really disappointing, the band should maybe stick to doing the lines they are used to, which as we know is usually the ones in the toilet (so I've heard :), and keep the Rock and Roll clothing to the likes of Liam Gallagher??

Seeing as I haven't heard of any further 2011 launch and the lack of publicity from their previous Launch, I think hopefully they have tried and failed.

Keep The Kings we want to see!!

No likey no Neon

Is it just me or is it every year we see a new spring line for NEON.... i dont know about you but I just dont get the trend at all, when was is every in to wear neon????

Dont get me wrong I love block colour, poster colour and bright pastels if you will, but I fail to see the point in this trend re-inventing itself every year... It just reminds me of when your out on the town having a cocktail and a giggle with your friends and then this hen or birthday party lumintes the doorway of the bar with their neon/illuminous leg warmers up to their thighs and multicoloured tutus. Just reminds me of TACK.

Like most I love a bit of colour in my outfits whether its black skinnies with canary yellow stelletos or a patent blood red bag but these would not be matched with alternative neon coloured painted nails or scarf etc... but looking at Christopher Kane spring 2011 line I just dont get it... is my vision blurred by the Neon Light?????

Everyone wants to start adding a bit of colour to thier wardrobes at this time of year its all we have to look forward seeing as theres no point of depending on this British weather, but I think there is a far better way to do it than wearing the workmens trend or illumination or neon brights...

This Armani dress however is far more classic and beautiful than the Neon trends that are out there, alot more subtle, more feminine bang on trend for Spring time 2011.

or the dreamy and floaty print of this Chanel dress is far more realistic than the overly obviously Neon trend that keeps coming back every year...

In my mind, which seems to be without Neon is probably really cloudy, I feel that Neon belongs to the ravers of the 90's and should stay in the amazing memory of the hacienda and the only way I will be wearing Neon or any illumunious clothing will be on a safety vest when walking along the road to the nearest petrol station as I thought I could make it to the next one....

GOK WAN

As probably most of us are huge Gok Wan fans, he really does have a wee special place in my heart as does the place they were filming in for this weeks fashion fix which was Harrogate...

Its such a picturesque place and has beautiful buildings and shops, and to be honest is more an up market little town where if you can afford to constantly buy from the little boutiques you must not be short of a bob or two..

I have family who live there and me and my lovely friend Ashley stayed there for a few nights during Leeds festival last year, the thing is, the town I feel needs a little bit of colour which quite frankly I think would be hard to if its anything compared to the dodgy looks we got, as we strutted down the main town in our doc martens and muddy wellies from the previous months festivals, whilst casually smoking a cigarette, we might of well have ran down the street naked....

as we also have a love for all things VINTAGE we went a little place called Space which promised to be the best vintage stockists around and being the geeks we are, we got mega excited about this...

feeling slightly disappointed as I wasn't really what we were used to but still nice to see locally stores like that doing well, it did feel like a tumble weed moment when we walked in as clearly we weren't known by these people and felt like we walked into a saloon in the middle of a JOHN WAYNE movie. Stranger in town.....

As much as I really love this town as it is extremely beautiful and clean and tidy town, It certainly needed a sprinkle of the Gok Wan magic to put it a little bit more on the map other than being ques for 50 mins outside Bettys Tea Room. x

I love Paris in the spingtime.

If you are anything like me and dying to get out of this crazy British weather we have all been experiencing and looking forward to just the slight little bit of sunshine... then you will also be looking into your spring wardrobe and see what you can revive and use again and when you get bored of trying to do your bit... you go shopping... well me and my lovely friend have taken it upon ourselves to step into spring in the most beautiful city in the world.. well so I've heard.

I'm thinking about what I'm going to wear as it is also our birthdays so I'm thinking, over the top Lanvin inspired  tulle dress or even the Lanvin old season collaboration with H&M ( which lets be honest is more my budget) but equally as pretty right?

I'm tempted to wear a red trench and pencil dress and ride a cute bicycle with a basket on the front but I think that's possibly a little bit of a cliche but would look fab in a black and white photo...

I don't know if its just the thought of being in Paris that I may end up being more romantic than the actual place and may end up changing my stiletto carvellas for flat pumps as too much walking to do but I'll keep you posted. :)
