New age MOD
Yes yet again the Mod's are back with a vengeance. Absolutely loving the new age mod Topshop has launched recently, loving the boyish style, very Skin last season with the peg leg and cigarette trousers with the long oversized blazers. Few things that I will certainly be getting for my Autumn wardrobe, starting with the chelsea boots.
Toppers you are well and truely back in my good books!

I love lucy...
Every girl needs playsuits and whats better than your favourite playsuit is your lovely VINTAGE playsuit and this is exactly that.. Showing my love for Lucy and this little bad boy...
Looking gorgeous supporting this little number, with the gold studs and the flattering shape and neck line shows off her killer legs. Nice wee 80's number... with the vintage style always comes the little mishaps such as a dodgy stud, just adds to the fun. I love Lucy and this play suit even with her puppies out.. X

New Girl Crush
Any you lovelies that know me, will know that I frequently get girl crushes mainly on the rich and famous. Well my new one is Zooey Deschanel.
I've always really liked her as an actress from seeing her in my ultimate favorite film ALMOST FAMOUS
This one I adore, its so pretty and girly think I would just skip about wearing this haha. Think if we take a leaf out of her book one day we will all be cool! Love a good girl crush.

I don't think i've come across anyone who doesn't love this film and I absolutely love her in it ,with her amazing one liners, "one day, you'll be cool and the hilarious "this is a house of lies"
Recently I watched the sweet romantic film 500 days of summer, where she supported amazing vintage outfits made me just fall in love with her even more.

Shu style
New product crush... it seems everytime I go to my hair dressers there seems to be some sort of new hair product being used on my hair but tends to be the same brand, which is bumble and bumble. The last few times I've been they have used Shu Uemura which I love love.
After paying for my hair cut which sets me back a few notes, I have to buy the products at around £22.50 each they are a bit steep however last for a long time.
The two pastes that I use are thick and none greasy, they hold my hair really well which it needs as mines sounds almost like a short back and sides, with a long middle part, sounds bit gross but I love it!!
The good thing about the silk mesh is that you can use it wet or dry and for added hold I add a bit of the silk mesh to the paste and use it dry works really well. Its available on the same website for £17.70
The silk didn't do too bad for a muddy weekend in the poring rain..

The paste is good for dry hair and doesnt go crunchy or flat, Its also good for when you are wanting to give your hair that semi curl or wave in it. I wouldn't really use if for hair any longer than shoulder length. You can get this cheaper than buying in hairdressers who stock Shu at www.shoprush.co.uk for £17.70
I think this silk mesh is also really worth a purchase, I use this one first on towel dried hair, it holds your style in place before your dry it it was an absolute life saver as last weeks T in The Park as I couldn't for the life of me get to a hair dryer in the posh toilets, so had to use this on my hair and hope for the best in the sunshine and it didn't do 3 bad have a wee look...

Back to the 60's
As if I need an excuse to write about the 60's, just as I was looking on the vogue website as normal the new Autumn/winter trend is yes you guessed it, its the 60's making another great appearance on the runway which I could not be anymore happy about.
Apart from the micro mini skirts that are a summer must have along with collars and empire line dresses, I love nothing more than trench coats and simple checks woolie coats in the winter. The block colour seems to be coming back mainly yellows and mustard colours which I think is gorgeous especially in winter time. Found a few wee looks on the net. Have a wee looksee.....
Burberry's new collection looks amazing, the orange colour's are really warm and I think the a-line duffle design is very 60's the green cape is also a more mod 60's but equally as lovely in the olive green colour.
A little more my price range, is this Topshop navy ponte swing coat which I absolutely love. Topshop has a new range for Autumn/Winter which is mainly retro looks with the 60's straight lines and block colours. FAB! Topshop £68.00
This is also a little topshop number, I really like the colours and the shape of this classic coat, this once is a little bit more expensive however a key piece and can have for a long time to come. £85.00

With these your sorted for the Autumn time come rain and cold. These boots capture the 60's feminine going into male style, ie blazer, brogue heeled shoes, collars. Thinking thick woolie tights with short mini and camel trench, Lovely! Topshop £68.00
I think these buy are keys pieces which will stay in your wardrobe for years to come trust me, I have a similar coat to the trench that's been in my wardrobe for 4 years and counting.
60's style always come back and always gets better!
Wedding Belles
Been a little while since I last blogged, been a little boring lately but am back in the game now... just back from TITP and have slept, well for pretty much 12 hours you would think I would be refreshed....nah! so since I've been going in and out of my faux disco naps ( as going to a disco is the last thing on my mind) I am now successfully feeling a tad worse for wear however fully awake which is handy just in time for bed.....go figure! never been one for doing things the right way around really?!
Spent plenty of notes this year on the perfect festival fashion, vintage play suite, vintage high waist shorts with yellow top and lovely lovely ditsy topshop dress for the Sunday for it to be drenched, however had a lovely time and I'm sure everything looked fabby underneath my army print raincoat...
My next thoughts are now turning to my lovely oldest friend I have's mum wedding.. not too sure what look am going for and I have lost a little bit of weight which means all they beautiful dresses that are hanging in my wardrobe are too big. (which i'm secretly happy about... but is an excuse for me to go SHOPPING!
Had my eye on this lovely little floral number from miss selfridge.
I think its a really lovely length especially with the dropped hem line at the back and the small floral print will be very flattering for more shorter or petite girls with the little bit of a fabulous curve. It was £45.00 now down to £25.00 which is even better. With the length and the price will give me an excuse to go buy killer platform heels, maybe a nude colour peep toe patent shoe, or these little lovelies which will bring out the orange and the brown tones in the dress and will look great with a nice brown tan.
These court shoes are Miss KG Minnie by Kurt Geiger who's shoes I love love and are priced at £80.00 although found a great site - www.shoeaholics.com they are £49 great saving.
So that's wedding sorted and then will be shortly back to another festival shop.... although I have decided to change my ways and think outside the box about the clothes and key Pieces I buy see what I can change, tweek and reuse before I hit the shops and this dress is certainly something I will wear again, in fact to my next festival at the end of the month, I'm thinking my vintage short racer style black top that's discreetly embellished to go over the top of the dress, that will turn the dress from daytime wedding to hippy/boho pretty, big gold accessories like this gorgeous head band - £20.00 from ASOS and will never date. With a headband like this I think the rest of the jewellery needs to be simple so its not taken away from the headband.
I would stick to the statement ring and a lovely simple brown 70's boho bag from ASOS at £30.00
And to finish off with my old faithfuls - dr martens once I've scrubbed the TITP mud off them that is. They will completely turn the outfit around but I love it!
Sorted!
I'm becoming a dab hand at this budget shopping.

Blondie has more fun...
Start of summer has finally begun and I for one could not be any more happier....its also the start of the festival season with coachella starting it all off... and I'm thinking where else to go this year to try and top last?????
One thing I'm more than happy about is that my all time favourite girl crush that is DEBBIE HARRY is going to make an appearance just up the road from me atbalado but the incredible blondie has not been put as top of the bill for some cool reason, to which I cannot for the life of me figure out.
Thinking about my outfits I cant help but look back at some old skool blondie pics and start to get some inspiration from arguably the ultimate rock chick that is Debbie Harry, even though her style was so simple but equally amazing, I'm thinking leather look leggings, and vintage cut band t... or some denim high waisted hot pants and some tasseled number, still thinking along the lines of band t or Andy Warhol one like on the atomic sleeve.
Either way I cant go wrong with a bit of blondie inspiration, even if she is cold as ice cream...she's still as sweet! I heart Debbie Harry!!

Where's your will to be weird?
Arrived in Paris for the first time and couldn't believe how beautiful it was, we arrived around 10pm and the area was just buzzy with fabulous people chatting in fairy lit cafe bars discussing their busy days in the most amazing city I have every come across.
Waking up in Paris the next day was even more intriguing to me, everyone was just so lovely, making an effort to say hello asking how your day was and I don't think I have ever seen such beautiful people in such a short space of time and without running the risk of sounding like a cliche, there was people riding about on their bikes and everyone smoked cigarettes but somehow it just looked so glamorised and natural to be doing it, as if it would be more weird if youdidn't smoke in Paris right???
Along with all the typical tourist attractions I visited which was amazing, the main memory of Paris for me was visiting Jim Morrison's grave which may sound a tad morbid, but with myself and my fabulous friend Dominique being huge fans of The Doors it was high at the top of our to do list.
After getting to the grave which took a little while seeing as though my brother gave us the wrong plot number and we cannot ask for directions, (bearing in mind this grave yard is hu-mongous)
we eventually stumbled across the grave where there was people taking pictures, just having a wee moment to themselves and others who quite honestly were stoned and probably drunk too, I noticed alot of people had cans of beer or had just finished some wine, and I couldn't help thinking that maybe we should have done the same, after all Jim Morrison was rarely sober and he said the most incredible things when most certainly was high.
Seeing as though Jim Morrison died in the 1970's I only learnt about him from second hand information from my parents and from having a love of music from the 60's. I think visiting and seeing his grave and seeing people around it who may have grown up with loving him and his music gave me a sense of sadness that he left this world at such a young age and in such tragic circumstances, but also a sense of relief as he was always looking to the dark side or "other side" and that he was never afraid of death as such which I suppose people may not understand or may be afraid of.
Maybe there is something to be said for having the will to be weird???

We are the mods...
Now that its coming into a little sunshine and I'm eagerly awaiting the festival season, I'm starting to think about my own personal style... Noticing now that all the boho 70s styles are coming back, which I do love and I think everyone looks hot in there summer boho dresses and even guys in cords, or is that just me??
But I cant help thinking I still love the MODS!! winter 2010 seen the peter pan collar come back into the swing of things which I adore shift dresses and even knee high socks. BUT I cant help going back to what I love the most and its all about the 60's. From Vidal Sassoon haircuts, Mary quant micro minis , lambretta polo shirts, Harrington jackets, and winkle pickers in fact mod guys never looked so yummy.
Anyone for dancing like ace face...
I'm stepping into spring but sticking to the MOD! we are we are we are the mods!!

Looking forward to Spring...
Normally just as most people are still nursing hangovers from their new years parties, all that you see in the magazines are the next S/S 2011 look books. And seeing as though I ALWAYS over indulge over the whole winter period and I can no longer blame it on the festive period as it seemed to have started around hmmmmm Oct time, seeing look books for when I know I will want to be a few stone lighter before hopping into my playsuits.... I'm actually really looking forward to shopping for my S/S 11 wardrobe....
The main trend that seems to keep coming up is the 70's riviera look which I never thought I'd say this seeing as though I lurveeee the 60's it just looks amazing with the over sized hats and gorgeous palazzo trousers, I noticed that Primark seems to be the best for the new seasons looks for both price and being bang on trend - here's a few of my favourites:
Love the 3 1/4 length black and mocha dress, noticing alot of dresses coming out this lenght, like I need another reason to go buy
again loving the halterneck dress in the middle and the ditsy flower print on the first dress, think the cardigan gives it a preppy feel which is dead cute, and the satchel bag is quite 70's along with the palazzo pants. As we see every year the nautical trend reinvents itself every year but this year I think its got a cuter more American look to it, again with geeky glasses are back with vintage look prints geeky glasses go clear this year but still look good in fact better, and the last look seems to be grungy with pretty twists and prints. love!

Liking the wooden peep toe and rope wedges always like wedges but I think they only work when mega high. (shock!)
ASOS is another of my favourites for their S/S 11 looks.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that ASOS is one of my favourite places to shop, but their S/S 11 dresses are just amazing, I love the floor lenght camel coloured pleated dress. I spied it before and constantly hover over the "place in basket" button but I'm sadly just to little for it.... sad times hopefully one of my friends will buy themselves it and I can admire it from a distance :(

This look again captures the 70's trend floating about just now, just make me want to skip about a festival field... lovely, I maybe thinking too much ahead but to be honest, I always do but I think the 70's trend is going to be huge for the festival season, I know I'm looking for my tasseled embroidered waistcoat to wear.
The trouser trend is back again this year I see, with the wide legged silk trousers, love the neutral colours, think to me its like a kind of Parisian style/ geek sheek/ st tropaz....think I'll get involved in that!!
Absolutely adore this outfit, in fact going to get it off asos asap. love everything about it, the girly vintage feel print, almost see through but keeps everything to the imagination. Now I have a little bit of sunshine to look forward too, making shopping for the S/S 11 wardrobe that whole bit more fun.. any maybe I'll just purchase the clothes in the size I'm meant to be and hopefully looking forward to spring stops me from having the "I'm just festively plump" (all year round) statement tattooed on my forehead?? that should work right??

Carrie Diaries
Having heard the news that Blake Lively is set to be the young Carrie Bradshaw in the SATC prequel got me all excited. I think it is just what the series needs as I didn't entirely LOVE LOVE the second film as I thought it kinda dragged on a little.
I think she will do the young Carrie Bradshaw justice and couldn't really think of anyone else more up to the job of playing a fabulous naive Carrie starting out in New York and apparently telling her stories of dating an older man.
I think it will breathe new live into the SATC as we know it, and there will not be a current Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda in sight and quite frankly I cant wait.
XOXO
